In the last decade the consumption of takeaway food has increased dramatically compounded by the recent global pandemic, bins are overflowing and recycling plants are struggling to keep up. Single use containers used by this sector are causing a significant impact on the environment and adding to the effects of global warming. Our aim is to start a movement to dramatically cut down this waste one container at a time. The European union 2025 policy on recycling aims to reduce the impact of over 20 million takeaway containers used annually thus reducing emissions by 61,700 CO” eq/yr (link).
